FELICITATION CEREMONY OF TEACHERS
The felicitation ceremony of teachers who rendered a service of more than 25 years to Musaeus College was held on the 3rd of December 2012 in the school auditorium.
The Nursery Concerts – 2012
The Lower Nursery and the Upper Nursery concerts were held on the 23rd and 24th November 2012 at the Peter De Abrew Memorial Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the Lower Nursery concert was Mrs. S. Tennakoon, The Headmistress of the Primary section and The Chief Guest for the Upper Nursery concert was Mrs. S. Dandeniya , The Principal of our school.
They are much anticipated events in the Nursery calendar and these events let the children to show their various talents in music, song and dance.
Happy Birthday Mother Musaeus
Musaeus College celebrated its 121st Birthday on the 15th of November 2012. A special programme and an alms giving had been organized on this day to pay tribute to the founders.
Prize Giving – 2012
The Annual Prize Giving was held on the 25th of October 2012 at the Peter De Abrew Memorial Auditorium from 3.30 p.m. onwards.
The Chief Guest for the day was Deshamanya J. B. Disanayaka Emeritus professor of Sinhala, University of Colombo.
All Island Dancing Competition 2012
Musaeus College dancing troupe “Thishra” (Under 19) trained by Mrs. Samangi Bodhiyabadu, emerged 1st place from the All Island Dancing Competition Finals 2012 organized by the Ministry of Education.
The 9th Annual Ladies’ College – Musaeus College Regatta 2012
The 9th Annual LCMC Regatta was held on the 13th of October 2012 at the Colombo Rowing Club from 12 p.m. onwards.
“Sahithya Rasanjali” – Book Launch
The book launch of primary section was held on 12th of October at the college auditorium to mark the International Children’s Day. More than 250 books written by the primary students were released and the chief guest was the popular writer Ms. Janaki Sooriyaarachchi.
“Sithu Siththam – 2012” – Art exhibition

Primary English Drama 2012
The English Drama “Sleeping Beauty” presented by the Primary Section, was staged at the Peter De Abrew Memorial Auditorium on the 28th of September 2012 at 6 p.m. onwards.
Senior Prefects’ Induction Ceremony – 2012/13
The Senior Prefects’ Induction Ceremony 2012/13 was held on the 27th of September 2012, at the school auditorium.
Remembrance Day – 2012
The Founder Principal of our school Mrs. Marie Musaeus Higgins was remembered with great respect and gratitude on her 86th death anniversary on the 9th and 10th of July 2012. An overnight pirith ceremony followed by an alms giving was organized to pay tribute for the immense service rendered by our “Sudu Amma”.
Musaeus College “First Pahinpath Mangalya”
The first Pahinpath Mangalya was held on Thursday May 3rd, at 8.30 a.m. at Hunupitiya Gangaramaya temple. Six students who were trained by Mrs. Radeesha Samangi Bodiyabadu, performed in front of their parents and well-wishers. Mr. & Mrs. Piyasara Kanthi Shillpadhipathi and Principal Mrs. S. Dandeniya graced the occasion.
“Kala Ulela” 2012
“Kala Ulela” was held on the 25th of April 2012 from 2.30 p.m. onwards in the Peter De Abrew Memorial Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Victor Rathnayake.
Avurudu Pola 2012
The “Avurudu Pola” organized by the Musaeus College Teachers’ Guild was held on 31st of March 2012 from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm at the school premises.
Inter-House Athletic Meet 2012
The Inter-House Athletic Meet was held on 24th of February 2012 at the C. C. C. Grounds, Colombo from 12 noon onwards.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Kumari Balasuriya. The Governor – Southern Province.
