‘Chairs’ the Musaeus drama emerged 1st at the Children’s Drama Festival has been selected to be staged at the 7th Colombo International Theatre Festival organized by the Inter Act Art Organization. It will be held from 24 -30 May at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, Colombo 07.
The Drama Festival held annually for the past six consecutive years, will see Austria, Germany, India, Argentina, Kosovo, Turkey and Italy joining hands with Sri Lanka to make this festival rich with cultural diversity and theatrical techniques from around the world.

Esheli N. Ranawaka of Grade 4 was awarded the Silver Medal (Age Group 8 – 11) at the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, a national level contest sponsored by Toyota Lanka.
The art of Esheli Ranaweera has been selected for the Christmas postage stamp for 2017. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Religion Affairs. She represented Musaeus at the National Ceremony, which was held in Kandy to celebrate issuing of the new stamp.
Performing Arts/Talents
Dulya De Silva and sayuni Masakorala brought credit to their alma mater by winning the first and second places at the National Public Speaking Competition organized by the English Speaking Union of Sri Lanka.
Dulya De Silva will represent Sri Lanka at the International Public Speaking Competition which will be held in England 14th – 18th May.
All Island Inter School Dancing Competition – 2015 (Junior Division) 1st Place – Musaeus College
16 graceful dancers accompanied by 8 melodies voices, the junior dancing troupe of Musaeus College mesmerized the audience when they secured the 1st Place at the All Island Inter School Dancing Competition – 2015 held at Thaksila Maha Vidyalaya, Horana.
Their victorious journey to win the most coveted position in the school dancing arena began when they became the 1st in the Colombo Zone. Then they danced their way to become the 1st at the Western Province Inter School Dancing Competition beating 11 schools.
Musaeus College Junior Dancing troupe was trained by Mrs. Samangi Bodiyabadu, Miss. Nuwanthi Yapa, Mrs. Manori Siriwardena & Mrs. Thelma Abeygunaratne, the talented dancing & drama teachers at Musaeus College.
SLIIT Codefest-2014 – School Quiz Competition
Musaeus College emerged “First Runners Up” out of 85 schools at the SLIIT CODEFEST 2014 quiz competition which was held on the 24th October 2014 at the SLIIT-Faculty of Computing, for the Third consecutive year.This was conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, together with the Information and Communication Technology branch of the Ministry of Education. Pramodha Jayasiriwardene, Gayathri Karannagoda and Menusha Karunanayake represented the school at the above event.
Shakespeare Drama Competition 2014
Musaeus College participated in the all island Shakespeare Drama Competition 2014 and emerged 1st place for choreography, 2nd runners up at the finals and of the following categories.

The students of the Commerce Society immerged overall champions in a marketing competition organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) winning scholarships worth of Rs.220,000.

The members of the ICT Society immerged Champions at the Inter School Quiz Competition organized by the ICT Society of Wesley College while several other members were placed 1st and 2nd at the interschool Presentations competition and interschool Still graphics competitions respectively.

Musaeus College dancing troupe “Thishra” (Under 19) trained by Mrs. Samangi Bodhiyabadu, emerged 1st place from the All Island Dancing Competition Finals 2012 organized by the Ministry of Education.
Asini Siyara Polwattage of Grade 8 won the 3rd place in the age category of 10 – 12 years at the Art Competition themed ‘My Dream Car’ organized by the Toyota Lanka Company this year. Her drawing will complete with the drawings of the children all over the world in the near future.
Musaeus College is gifted with a cash prize from the Toyota Lanka company and the school organized a wonderful ceremony to felicitate her.
Future Minds Competitions – 2012
Musaeus College won several valuable gifts and certificates at the Future Minds All Island Competitions, which were held along with the National Educational and Career Gateway Exhibition organized by Nalanda College Junior Old Boys’ Association.
The Chief Guest for the event was honourable Gotabaya Rajapaksa, The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Authority.
