Dilhara Wickramasinghe – World 8^th at FIDE World Chess Championship

Dilhara Ishini Wickramasinghe of Musaeus College, Colombo 07 was placed 8^th in the world in the final ranking of FIDE World School Chess Championship 2015 held in Thailand from 06^th to 15^th May 2015. Students from 34 countries participated in this tournament.

Fifteen year old Dilhara Wickramasinghe represented Sri Lanka at the 10th Asian Schools Chess Championship held in Taiwan and was placed 1st. This victory paved her way for the 11th World Schools Chess Championship, Where she secured the coveted WFM (Woman Fide Master) title and the World 8th Place.

Dilhara represented Sri Lanka at the World Chess Championship held in South Africa in September 2014, and also at the Asian Youth Chess Championship held in India in November 2014.

Dilhara Ishini Wickramasinghe is the 4th Woman Fide Master (WFM) title holder to walk through the gates of Musaeus College. The first three being.

Zonal Netball Tournament was held on 10^th March 2014 at Sirimavo Balika Vidyalaya – Colombo. Musaeus College was awarded under 17 championship and under 19 championship trophy.

	Sendaru Perera of Musaeus Colege setup a new meet record after 11 years in the under 14 girls 200 meters, finishing the event in 26.9 seconds.

Amanda Jayasekara of Musaeus College setup a new meet record in 50m free-style event, at the 39th National age Group aquatic Championship 2013.

Ridmi Rankothge of Musaeus College setup a new meet record in 100m Butterfly Stroke event, at the 39th National Age Group Aquatic Championship 2013.

Ruvini Kannangara of Musaeus College emerged Runners-up, Representing the Sri Lanka Junior National Table Tennis Team, at the South Asian Junior National Table Tennis Tournament which was held in India, from 20th to 22nd July 2013 and emerged Runners-up.

Hashini Perera (under 17) and Ishini Wickramasinghe (under 13) awarded Championship in their respective categories at the Sri Lanka Schools individual Chess Tournament 2013 conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Chess Association and represented Sri Lanka at the World School Chess Championship 2013, which was held in Porto Carrs, Halkidiki, Greece, from 6th to 15th May 2013.

Srinika Gamage represented “Sri Lankan schools under 19 team at the Waverly International Netball Tournament” which was held in Australia from 3rd to 6th July 2012.

Mandakini Gunasekera, Dinithi Nanayakkara and Charini Jinadasa represented Sri Lanka at the 19th Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2012 held in Kish Island, Iran from 19th to 23rd June.

Sushmitha Ilangakoon won the open women’s singles title and became the runners-up of the open women’s double title at the nationalized services All Island Open badminton Championship which was held from 7th to 10th June 2012 at Royal Complex.

Nethmi Pabasari De Silva represented Sri Lanka in 100m and 4x100m relay at the 15th Asian Junior Athletic Meet held in Sugathadasa Stadium Colombo.

Australian International Under 19 Badminton Tournament – Bronze Medal Sushmita Ilangakoon of Musaeus College was qualified for the semi finals and clinched the bronze medal at the Australian International under 19 Badminton Tournament sponsored by Lee-ning, which was held in Perth, Australia from the 4th of May to 6th of May 2012. Many players from Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, India and Malaysia participated at this tournament.
